When Will You Come Back to Being Normal?

A little while ago I got off the phone from talking to a family member, making my rounds of calls for some belated holiday greetings.  I was eager to talk to them until I got the question (or request I hate most). "When are you going to come back to reality? It's time to come back to normal life and make a plan."  I got a little annoyed with this and asked "What exactly is normal" to which they replied "Living in North America or Europe." I am from a small city in Atlantic Canada where everybody knows you (and if not you then your parents), and ever since my first trip to a foreign country when I was fourteen years old, I've been obsessed with the world. I've always been fascinated by different cultures, languages, maps, travelling, passports and  all things that go along with travelling. When I was 19 I took my first big trip; A 2 week tour through Europe, with a day or two stopping in each place. It gave me a good idea of where I wanted to...

I Love Airports!

I often here people complain about connections and waiting for long hours in the airport terminal. Where I can understand that when you are tired, it gets old fast, I also think it can be quite enjoyable. The experience can be what ever you make it! I think you also find out how many of us are so similar in this big world. I'll never forget when I was travelling somewhere ...

My 2015 Year in Review

As a new month begins, so does a new year. The last sun of 2015 has set and the first of 2016 has risen, making me (as well as other people all over the globe) reflect on the year that has just passed and start to prepare for a new one. What have I done? What did I learn? What will I do differently? How will I grow? 2015 had a quite a few hurdles and in the end I feel like although I learned a lot, it was not my best year. I've said many times this year (though perhaps I shouldn't) that 2014 was my best year so far. I got to see my family, met lots of new friends while spending time with old ones, and I had a number of wonderful experiences. I met my wonderful boyfriend and everything seemed perfect.  The past year was all but perfect. Coming out of it I kind of say "good riddance".  I definitely learned a lot about myself and traveling by myself a couple of times this year has helped me do a lot of thinking and has put me on the path of loving myself more.  S...
